All About Mom!

The past few weeks I've been a little consumed with my Mom. At the end of April she had a full knee replacement surgery and has since been home recovering. The family is all trying to take shifts to head to the house and help with the everday tasks. Cooking meals, cleaning, etc, etc, etc. Since she's been home some of her family and some neighbors have dropped off meals so they wouldn't need to worry about dinners. Along with the food there were many visits and of course phone calls from friends and family wondering how she is doing. Mom has been more tired than anything. The pain she was prepared for but its doing a number on her sleep. She just can't seem to get comfortable. Physical Therapist and her Doctors are happy with her progress. I'm really happy to see how well she's doing too!  :)  Even tho she is doing so well she still gets her stubborness out there. Mom thinks she knows better than the drs and therapists and tries to walk on her own without the assistance of a walker/cane. Needless to say this get extremely aggrivating. I know she feels ready but the family and I keep telling her to not push herself and to not rush anything. It feels to me that she's going a little stir crazy being inside most of the days. She gets out and walks with my Dad to the mailbox or down the street but it's not like being able to go outside and walk or go to the grocery store or just about anything. Even with all the frustrations and pain she is really doing AMAZING!. I'm personally eager to get her back to normal even tho I know it will take time. She will most likely kick my butt for posting these pics of her but oh well...

Doesn't she look great!  :)

Besides playing Nurse Betty I've been staying pretty busy with my boys. Ralph and I are both working like crazy but we still always make time for our little man. Weekends are always busy with things happening in the family or in Bloomingdale. I try to always have something fun planned for us to do. Last weekend, for Mother's Day we went to my parents and made a Mother's Day Brunch since my Mom was not going to be leaving the house. It was delicious!!! Ashley, Nikki and I decided to give my Mom her own little herb garden for Mother's Day. She's always so busy cooking and it made sense for her to have the herbs she uses so frequently right in her backyard. We think she loved it!

If you look close enough you will see that I put the blanket together backwards...No one even told me until the gift was given and all put together

So I fixed the problem by flipping the blanket inside out!
Love to all!
