We are about 2 months into life with a preschooler and it has gone so much better than I anticipated. Lucas is loving preschool. He's making friends and learning so much!!! It amazes me how much he's taking in. Every now and then I catch him singing a song in his room while playing or while taking a bath and I know that it's one from school. He's my little sponge!
October all in all was a great month. Along with the first days of preschool we got to hang out with some cool people.
In the middle of the month Aunt Nikki and Avery came up to the burbs for a short visit and of course, I had to squeeze in some time with my favorite little girl, for now that is. In case you hadn't already heard Nikki and Dave are expecting another little baby girl in March! It was at this visit that Miss Avery told us she was going to have a sister baby....so sweet! I wish I got it on video.
We spent a weekend down in Bloomington with Aunt Nikki, Uncle Dave and Avery for their annual Pumpkin Carving Contest. I love getting the two little ones together because they always have so much fun with each other!
Grandma made both kiddos Halloween pajama's....such goofballs!
And of course, October isn't October without Halloween! Lucas had a big say in what he wanted to be this year. In the past he's never cared either way so when I asked this year he was ready. He wanted to be a Pirate! The best part is Grandma offered to make his costume this year. I think he looked pretty great but you can be the judge...
Once November hit we continued with our busy weekends. Over Veterans Day Ashley and I took a trip down to Bloomington to visit Nikki. Taking Ashley with wasn't planned so Nikki was pleasantly surprised when we showed up at the nail salon and Ashley was waiting for us. We had a great time together!
Thanksgiving was great this year. We spent the day with the Carrion side of the family at my aunt and uncle's home. It was a great day with great food and company. After we ate Mom, Ashley and I left our homes about 8:00 that night to tackle some great black Friday sales! It was so much fun to get out with my Mom and have her be able to walk the whole night (until 5:30am) and not feel tired. The "new knees" worked like a charm! I made a huge dent in Christmas shopping!
Then of course, it was time to decorate the house for Christmas. Even Oliver, our Elf, made his first visit of the year. He even brought breakfast and a present for Lucas, Mommy and Daddy.
The letter Oliver left for Lucas.
Christmas socks for Lucas, Mommy and Daddy and a coloring book for Lucas.
Tree in Lucas' room
Yep, I decorate the deer too.
