Happy 1st Birthday Lucas Raymond

Lucas Raymond Antfellner
1/26/2009
10lbs. 22in.

One year ago today I was preparing for the biggest change in my life. Who knew that it was also going to be the most precious blessing? Lucas has made our lives so full of joy and love. In the past year Ralph and I have watched Lucas grow and grow and looking at him today I cant believe how fast it went. As much as I was hoping for an all out wonderful first birthday Lucas woke up sick this morning so he wasn't having as much fun today. In honor of his first birthday I thought I would pick and share some of the best and maybe worst parts of this past year...

Obviously, seeing Lucas for the first time. He was so tiny (yes, at one point he was small) and dependent on me. I can still remember the first time I held him. I don't remember much after thanks to the pain killers but I do remember that moment.

Another favorite of mine has to be the first time he laughed, really laughed. It was the most beautiful and innocent noise I've ever heard.

Lucas from the start was always Grandpa's favorite. Maybe it was because he was the first boy, but their relationship has become one that I know will be extremely important to both of them as the years pass. I know my Dad just treasures him.

In October Lucas met his Opa from Austria for the first time. This was a moment that I know Ralph had been waiting for since the day Lucas was born.

Hearing Lucas say Mama for the first time was by far my most favorite part of the last year. Currently he is all about saying DaDa but it was Mama first.

Of course we had our share of accidents, bloody lip, swollen hand, and a black eye. I only have a picture of the black eye

All and all it was an INCREDIBLE year and Ralph and I are looking forward to all the firsts that are yet to come. I can't wait to see the man that he becomes! Happy Birthday my beautiful baby boy! Mommy and Daddy love you so much!
