October was an exciting month for us as a family. Lucas started to crawl and talk, 4 more teeth popped up and Ralph's Dad came back for a visit. We took Lucas to the Apple Orchard in the beginning of the month where we got some apples (of course) and a pumpkin for Halloween. The day was beautiful. I think he enjoyed the fresh air!

The visit with Ralph's Dad was short but well spent. Lucas got to meet his Opa and that was the most important part of the visit. Ralph's Dad sold the property in Wisconsin which was a little bittersweet for me. We will definitely miss the weekend trips, our own little getaway. The property was sold to a family with 5 children and the new owners were nice enough to let Ralph hunt one more season on the land.
Between Ralph's new job and hunting season in full swing Lucas and I don't see too much of him. The job is one of the best that he has had. Cooking, sales and management...all three strengths of Ralphs. The owners of the company are very impressed with Ralph's skills in the kitchen and with the clients. I think he's finally found his niche.
Halloween with a child is so different than without. I was so excited to get Lucas dressed up and take him trick or treating. We made a few visits to family in the area and then ended the night at Grandma and Grandpa's. He was a good sport all day even though by the end of the night he was completely spent.

With the holiday season already in full swing it makes me feel a little nervous. Our little man will be 1 in such a short time. Where did the year go? Is this what I have to look forward to in the future?
Love to all!

Our little man --- what a sweetheart and we enjoy every minute that we spend with him.
