Lucas is really getting strong. He is holding his head up by himself now but still a little wobbly when he sits in our laps. He is also trying to pull himself up from a laying position. It's really incredible to see all of his milestones. Lucas's newest eye catcher are his hands. He has started to bring them together and can't keep them out of his mouth!!!
Laughter has started to fill our house!!! Our little man sure has a heart melting laugh and smile. He loves to stand while we hold him and if he's not in our laps he's hanging out in his swing. It seems to be the one thing that really calms him when he's cranky. The colic seems to have subsided (thank goodness) and he's a lot happier. He still has his moments of whining but its mainly when he's over tired.

Speaking of sleep...We were getting almost 8 hours of sleep at a time...ALMOST! We took Lucas at the end of March for his 2 month check up and immunizations. WOW!!! That was by far the hardest thing I've ever done. The appt started out like any other...height and weight which was 15lbs 13oz and 25 1/2 inches long. My boy is growing for sure. He is in 3-6mth clothing already! So back to the appt....after the height and weight were checked we waited for the Doctor to do his exam of Lucas. He is in the 99 percentile for height and weight and very very strong. Dr. Renk is very pleased with his progress. The nurses then came in to administer the shots. We made sure to keep Lucas preoccupied and happy while waiting. There were two nurses and they were giving 3 shots and one oral vaccine. The oral was nothing. Lucas has been taking medicine by a syringe since he was one month old for his reflux. The nurses then warned me that they would do two of them at a time and the third one on it's own. I've never seen such fear in a persons eyes before as I did with Lucas. He just screamed and cried so hard. It's a cry I've never ever heard before. It wasn't long before tears were coming down my cheeks too. We fed him right after and he did calm down pretty quickly. The next few days were rough. He was in pain and not sleeping on his own at all. I spent the next week sleeping with him on my chest. He wouldn't eat like he was. It was more often than he was and only sleeping in 2 hour increments. About a week after the doctor's appt Lucas started coughing and sneezing, A LOT! Come to find out he got his first cold, and there is nothing you can give a baby to help. The dr recommended a cool mist vaporizer, nasal saline before suctioning and water to keep him hydrated. Lucas doesn't like the ball syringe at all.
It's been about a week and he is much better. The cough is lingering a little but for the most part he is back to normal. His sleeping is getting better...about 5 hours at a time. We'll get him back to almost sleeping through the night. I have faith! Lucas got all dressed up this past Sunday for Easter. He looked pretty adorable if I don't say so myself. We spent the morning at Grandma and Grandpa's where Lucas got two Easter baskets from AL (Aunt Lump (Ashley)) and the "Easter Bunny". He loved the toys from AL and I can't wait to put him in the outfits from the "Easter Bunny". After breakfast with the grandparents and Aunt Nikki, Uncle Dave and AL we ventured over to Aunt Debbie and Uncle Dan's house for dinner and our traditional easter egg hunt. Lucas, being the youngest, got to go hunt first with Daddy and tied cousin Danny for the most eggs found! Way to go little man!!! He was pretty pooped after such a long and overwhelming day. Everyone, including Great Grandma Carrion were so excited to see him.

In the next few weeks we have a lot planned. This coming weekend we will be saying good-bye to my Great Aunt. She will be moving the Arizona to stay with her children. It's going to be pretty hard to say that final good-bye. At the same time Lucas will get to meet all of his extended family on the Nemer side...get ready Lucas...it's going to be a lot of kissing and hugging and a lot of comments about your crazy hair! The following weekend is my Grandma Carrion's 89th birthday, then my birthday and the weekend of Mother's Day we will all be in attendance to watch Nikki graduate with her MASTERS!!! I'm so proud of her! We then get a few weeks off to just relax. The first weekend in June Lucas might get the honor of meeting his newest cousin Camden. We are really looking forward to seeing the Eyers! Lucas will also be baptized that Sunday, June 7th.
It looks like us Antfellner's will be pretty busy this summer! I'll try to be better about keeping you all updated on our lastest adventures. Our love to all! Happy Spring!!!
