What's new, I'm a little behind with this update. My little man turned 4 on January 26th. Can't believe how fast that went. We spent about a month celebrating the big day. I decided to not have a big party for Lucas this year. Mostly because of space. I used to have it at our home but since we've moved and are now in a smaller place that was out of the question and being that we live in the midwest an outdoors party in the middle of winter didnt' seem the most appealing. We started the celebrations off with a small family party at ChuckeCheese. Nikki and Avery made it in from Bloomington to help celebrate. I'm pretty sure my Dad enjoyed himself the most! (Can you hear my sarcasm?) Lucas played just about every game in the place! After some playing there was of course pizza and then we headed back to Grandma and Papa's for some presents and some cupcakes!
These 2 are just the cutest!
The next day we took the birthday boy to a dinosaur exhibit that was being held in Rosemont. We had been talking the exhibit up in the days prior because I knew that it would be extremely overwhelming and possibly scary for him. The dinosaurs are pretty big, almost life size. The lighting was very dark and they had fog machines. As soon as we entered the exhibit the tears started. He spent most of the exhibit in my arms with his head buried in my neck. He did however, enjoy one of the dinosaurs. After a lot of reassuring he made a few attempts to look at some of them.
On his actual birthday we all met up with Ralph's sister, brother in-law and our niece for an authentic German dinner. The food was amazing and Lucas loved hanging out with his older cousin.
Lucas' birthday gift from Mommy and Daddy was a trip back up to the Great Wolf Lodge. We had such a great time when we went in August that we knew we'd have to get up there again. This time we took Grandma and Papa with us for an added surprise for Lucas. He had no idea but was so excited! Once we got there Lucas couldn't wait to show Grandma and Papa all the amazing things the resort has to offer. Especially the pool and the water slides! I didn't take many pictures but here are two pretty cute ones.
Happy Birthday sweet boy. Mommy and Daddy love you so much. You are such a kind hearted and loving little boy and we are so proud to be your parents. You continue to bring us endless joy and laughter.
