Fun with Mom

I was so excited to have 4 days off in a row. I had planned on doing a lot of activities and spending some much needed quality time with Lucas. Unfortunately, Lucas had other plans. He was sick, ALL WEEKEND!!! The first cold of the season hit Saturday and it is still lingering. Needless to say Mommy spent Saturday, Sunday and most of Monday cuddling her little guy trying to make him feel a little better. Lucas seemed a little better this morning. Still coughing and his poor nose is so raw from wiping it clean. Since he was in a better mood I decided to get in some of the fun I had planned.

Lucas decorating his pumpkin for Halloween

When Aunt Nik was in town she bought Lucas some play dough... First impression wasn't a good one. I'm not sure if he didn't like it because it was something new or what. We tried again today and he was a fan! Thanks again Aunt Nik!!!

And then of course we colored. This time we made a picture for Gamma...see how pretty the picture is!

After his pumpkin dried we added the stickers to it that Lucas got from his cousin Camden in Arizona. It definitely adds to it, don't you think???

So proud of his accomplishments!!!

What a Weekend!

My favorite time of the year has finally arrived. The days of air conditioner are gone and I couldn't be happier. And then this past weekend it was 89 degrees and the idea of jeans and sweaters left as quickly as it arrived. I realize that I don't post as often as I should so for that I'm sorry. This past weekend was super busy and a lot of fun!!! Ralph was off the whole weekend so we definitely took advantage of him being home. On Saturday my parents came out for dinner and (of course) the Blackhawks home opener. Seeing the Stanley Cup Champs banner being raised in the United Center was pretty awesome. Unfortunately the Blackhawks lost but we aren't giving up just yet. On Sunday we went to the Apple Orchard ate tons of apples, saw a TON of pumpkins which had Lucas extremely excited and made a few attempts and family pictures. Notice the word attempt. We got home and put Lucas down for a nap because our day was far from over. We left again that afternoon for the Rockford Ice Hogs hockey game. This wasn't just any game...it was their home opening weekend AND the Stanley Cup, Conn Smythe, James Norris and the Clarence Campbell Trophies were on hand for our viewing pleasure. My little man waiting so patiently with Grandma, Grandpa and Mommy for TWO AND A HALF HOURS to see the trophies up close and personal! It was so amazing to share that moment with my Dad. He had a permanent smile on his face from the time he woke up and I'm sure it didn't leave his face all night. We finally got in to watch the game half way through the second period. Didn't matter though...it was totally worth missing part of the game to see the Cup. On Monday we headed to Sonny Acres with Nikki, Avery and Grandpa. Lucas did a lot of firsts here...He rode on the merry go round, he went on the fun slide and he got to hold his cousin while taking a picture in the pumpkin patch. Here are pictures from our busy weekend!
