Weekend with Aunt Nik and Uncle Dave

This past weekend Lucas and I headed down south to spend some time with Nikki and Dave. We arrived on Saturday and went to the corn festival in downtown Normal (or maybe it's Bloomington, I don't know). We ate some corn dogs, corn on the cob and some delicious funnel cake. On Sunday Aunt Nik, Lucas and I made the 2 and a half hour drive to St Louis. Nikki has been talking about how she wanted to take Lucas to the St Louis Zoo since it is so big and free. The zoo was a blast. Lucas slept the enitre way there and back. Check out the video at the end of Lucas cooling off with Aunt Nik.

A Fair to Remember...(I try to be clever)

This weekend was the Boone County Fair. Mom, Dad and Ashley came out for the fun! We spent a short period out at the fair grounds on Saturday and a longer time there on Sunday. We ate way too much, walked a bunch and of course tried anything fried and on a stick! Here are some pictures of our weekend!

I'm ready for August to be over

It's only August 10th but already we've had more than enough excitement. Two weeks ago the credit union that I work at was held up...AGAIN! Luckily no one was hurt and our security guard was able to scare him off but it has still put everything in my life into perspective. I have thought seriously about finding a new job. The first few times it happened I was ok with it but this time was different...All I could think about was what if someone got hurt, what if I got hurt, what would happen to my boys??? The whole incident has made me realize what I could lose. So the job hunt has started and will continue until something has come along that is a little bit safer.

On 8/2 we had our annual family reunion on my Dad's side. All the Nemers got together for a day of food, fun and games. It was also Lucas's first picnic. He handled it like a champ. All day outside and he was happy as could be. The following day we put Lucas in the baby pool that I bought for the first time. After the initial shock of the water (its never warm enough...no matter how warm you make it) he loved it! Lucas and Ashley splashed away for a good hour in the pool. After he was wiped. I think he slept like a rock that night!

This week Ralph and I are taking Lucas to the Boone County Fair. This is a pretty big deal out in the sticks! It will most likely be a two day event because of Ralph's schedule. So Ashley will be coming out on Saturday hopefully and we will venture out to the fairgrounds for some greasy food, animals, rides, games, etc...I'm actually looking forward to it this year! Maybe it's the kid in me.
I realized the other day that Christmas is a little over 4 months away...Did I scare anyone???

Here are some pictures of Lucas...
