It's amazing how your life can change in just 6 short weeks. Lucas has made our lives so much more complete. Children truly are a blessing.Do I sound convincing??? I never thought I would find crying humorous. Lucas has a touch of colic and between the hours of 4 and 7pm all he does is cry. And cry, and cry and cry. Nothing we do calms him. At first I felt like a failure but now I find it funny. I know you shouldn't laugh at your infant child when he's in pain but what else can I do.

Being a mom is a lot of fun and trying all at the same time. Sometimes I feel like pulling my hair out. It's hard at times and thanks to the wonderful hormones can be emoitonally draining. I went back to work this week and leaving Lucas was the hardest thing I've ever done. I didn't cry when I left but when I got in the car the water works started!!! It's comforting to know that he is home with his Daddy and that they are having a lot of bonding time. Why is Lucas home with Daddy....? Ralph got laid off from his job about 2 weeks ago. The company was struggling like most out there and unfortunately Ralph was "expendable". He's dealing with it better than I expected. He's looking at it as a blessing in disguise. No daycare bill whether Grandma C was watching him or not to pay for.
Lucas is growing like a weed!!! When he was born he was 10lbs and 22 inches long. He now weighs about 14lbs and is almost 25 inches long. Takes after Daddy for sure! Everyday he does something more incredible than the day before. He is smiling more now (and no...it's not gas) and has a personality just like Ralph. That means 2 stubborn Austrians for me to deal with. Lucas has an appetite like a 10 year old boy. He is currently eating 4oz every 3-4 hours during the day and at night 4oz ever 4-5 hours at night. He sleeps almost through the night only getting up once about 1am and then he's out until 6 or so in the morning. He loves being on his tummy as long as its on his terms. If he's fussy and I try to put him on his tummy he lets me know that he's not having it.

This past weekend Lucas and I went and visited with the Great Grandmas. They were both so thrilled that we made the trip to see them. Here's Lucas with his GiGi's.
I also was able to get a 4 generation picture on my Dad's side of the family. I'll have to get one with my Mom's side soon!!!

I can't believe how much he's grown in just 6 short weeks. I know that he is going to grow up extremely fast and before I know it he'll be getting ready for his first day of school.
