The "Joys" of Pregnancy

If dealing with the pain of muscles stretching and the occasional kick to the rib cage was not enough I now have the "Joy" of dealing with swollen ankles. I noticed this the other day and almost freaked! It is probably one of the ugliest sights of pregnancy but along with the aches and pains it's just something I get to deal with. This is the happiest time of my life right? Not that I'm complaining its just so many changes happening all at once gets to be a little bit overwhelming! Just add it to the list of on going changes in my body. On a happier note, Ralph and I celebrated our 4 year anniversary this week on the 17th. We really tried to enjoy it this year considering it will probably be the last quiet one we have for a while. I'm very happy to be on this journey with him. He has been a great support and a constant caregiver. So far no complaints from him but winter isn't here yet and I'm sure I'll be requesting air conditioning during the cold months of December and January. Best of luck to him...! I think I'll buy him some long underwear!!!

The Big Move

Just when I thought it couldn't get any more overwhelming it has. I have started to feel our little guy move!!! It is amazing. It feels like I have a bunch of butterflys fluttering around in my belly. They aren't strong enough for Ralph to feel yet and I think he's getting a little frustrated. I told him that in time, I'm sure sooner than later, he will feel him move all the time. Once he does I'm sure he will feel more involved in the pregnancy. I'm so glad that the movement has started. It definitely makes it feel more real!!!

It's a Boy!

Ralph and I are expecting our first child...a baby boy! We are so excited and extremely surprised by the sex. We thought for sure it was going to be a girl. Once we got over the initial shock of the sex we could not stop thinking of names and nursery ideas, etc. It has been one of the most overwhelming experiences of our lives and it's only just beginning!
